Melissa Strawser, Artist~Author EVERYDAY ART, Folk Art I was raised in a socio-economic family setting with self-taught folk artists, I'm 4th generation with two studio art practices: intaglio printmaking~painting~sculpture since the age of 19. The first run book sold out. We are now in the second run and the book can be found in bookstores. This is a 'loving tribute' to mothers and daughters with devotion to art saving lives. A deeply woven fabric of art history adorned by my beautiful self-taught, primitive folk painter and mom with Pennsylvania Dutch (German) heritage about tradition. In celebration to the 500th year of Martyrs' Mirror, illuminated manuscripts with folk art as a popular culture; this book is to celebrate 5 generations of women in folk art and our family with a historical, generational artistry amongst creative genius.

September 6, 2025, marks our first Ceremony with an unveiling of a Bronze Plaque & Bench, in tribute to my mom, Barbara Strawser, renown Schaefferstown folk painter, artist. Historic Schaefferstown, Inc and the Gemberling Rex House, along with my Mom's home and studio, is listed in the National Register. With ongoing restorative projects for a treasured artistic national legacy in folk artistry to be preserved to generations to come. Thank you for all your loyal support to my family, it means so much to me.
