Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, USA, Melissa Strawser has been an American Printmaker for the past 20 years utilizing print to create some of her most profound works of art. Her print work has been primarily created in London then Portugal, along side Prof. Bartolomeu dos Santos, through his Tavira Print Workshop in the Algarve. These etchings have been exhibited in Germany and Portugal. Melissa lives and works in Pennsylvania where she creates unique, raw expressions of what she sees in our natural world. She is inspired and driven by nature, light and travel. She has been a supportive colleague of BERTOIA STUDIO for the past ten years and this is where she maintains a studio designing and fabricating sculptures made of bronze, copper and brass. Most recently, Melissa will be continuing her print work on her own press in Pennsylvania, the printing press is called, GRAY MATTERS. Melissa's work can be seen in galleries, as well as various collections throughout the USA and Europe. She holds a First Degree, MA Fine Art/Printmaking from the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London, UK. |
